A NEW 30-40 mile fast-paced ride. It is a no-drop ride, we will be averaging (14-16 mph). There will be limited stops so pack accordingly for refueling. The ride will be mainly on roads. Bring lights we will be pushing dark at the end of the rides. Remember your water bottle(s), helmet and your bike light. The ride is designed to be a workout followed by fun and fellowship at our starting point.

We are looking for additional QCBC members to lead these F.A.W. rides. If interested contact Tina for more information.

Start making plans to join Deb and Dean Mathias and other fellow cyclists for the 2019 QCBC Fall Foliage Ride on the hills in the Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, area.

Friday, October 11 - Informal dinner gathering at the Grumpy Troll.

Saturday, October, 12 9:00 a.m. - Ride starts from the Military Ridge Bike Trail parking lot in Mount Horeb and will be 50 to 60 miles. Lunch stop in Mazomanie.

Saturday night - Group dinner at Schubert‘s.

Sunday, October 13, 8:00 a.m. - Ride starts from the same location and will be 40 to 50 miles. Brunch stop in New Glarus.

You will experience spectacular views that are a pleasant change from the corn and bean fields that you have been looking at on your cycling outings all summer. You have an option to ride just one day or both. Travel distance to Mt. Horeb is about 140 miles from Davenport - close enough to drive up and back the same day if you cannot get away for an entire weekend.

The Military Ridge Bike Trail (crushed limestone) offers an option for those cyclists that prefer flat terrain. The trail runs west to Governor Dodge State Park and east to Verona and beyond toward Madison. A trail pass is required.

Mt. Horeb is known for life-size trolls carved into tree trunks scattered throughout the village. Visitors are encouraged to take a leisurely "Troll Stroll" to seek out these unique characters using the Troll Spotter field guide.

Enjoy a nice 20 mile ride along portions of the Duck Creek Trail, Valley Dr and the Riverfront Trail. Turnaround will be at the Davenport Country Club. There will be options to shorten or lengthen this ride. Route will also use some quieter City Streets in Bettendorf to get to the trails from the Community Center. A great new route at a 10-12 mph pace. Lunch after the ride at 1pm at the Bettendorf Community Center. There is a large parking lot behind the Community Center along with Street Parking on the South and West sides. Front and rear lights are advised as it will be an overcast day and Motorists may not be looking for us later in the season.
