Joe Buikema will be leading a group ride this coming Saturday from his home in Clinton, IA starting at 8:30am.  The ride will get into the hilly terrain in NW Illinois and be around 80 miles long with 7k' of climbing with a centry option to be decided by the group.  Below is the rider overview from Joe.

Starting location:
2701 Willadsen Dr
Clinton, IA

I will lead an A/B ride this Saturday September 3 with plans to depart at 8:30. This ride will leave from my house (2701 Willadsen Drive, Clinton Iowa). Coffee and most likely homemade muffins will be available before we go (show up any time). Please park on the grass on the right side of the driveway. The ride itself will go north and cross the Sabula/Savanna bridge, continue to Hanover Illinois then on to our first stop at E-Town coffee in Elizabeth 40 miles in. There will be a bathroom available in Palisades State park at the 24 mile mark.  We will continue to Mt. Carroll to refill bottles at the local convenient store. Returning though Argo Fay with a hilly or flat option to reach Scenic Bluff road to cross the 136 bridge in Fulton. Roads will be typical Illinois blacktop and chip n’seal.  All are welcome, but please realize this will be nearly a 80 mile ride with approximately 7,000 feet of climbing. Depending on the group choice a small loop to Garden Plain will turn this into a century ride. Of course beers and conversation will be available once back!  Looking forward to share this scenic area with the group, Joe Buikema

Group “B”
17-20 mph.  Riders in this group should be familiar with drafting and be able to actively participate in the pace line.  These rides are normally “drop rides” with speeds of 20+ mph at times. This group tends to be a more intense ride over a shorter period than C group. Riders in this group normally ride daily.
