The QCBC and THE ZEN BOX in Eldridge are teaming up to provide members a free cyclist-oriented yoga class at THE ZEN BOX yoga studio at 602 S. 16th Avenue Eldridge IA on Saturday afternoon beginning at 4:00 pm. Kate Stoefen, owner and instructor will lead club members through a series of exercises that are oriented toward cyclists. Kate, a cyclist herself, also provides post ride yoga sessions for her fatherís cycling tours in the south east. If you have your own yoga mat bring it, although the studio has mats you can use if you do not have one.
Following the session, we will reconvene over at Lynnís BBQ & Saloon 1151 East Iowa street in Eldridge for a social and refreshments.

Not convinced yoga is for you? Here are two links that discuss why yoga is good for the recreational cyclist.

For those who follow professional cycling, yoga is not a new concept. Most of the cyclists on the World Tour do some amount of yoga. American Pro Cyclist Taylor Phinney is an avid believer.
